They were asked to \u201cgrade\u201d their communities and to point out areas where there<br>was need for more progress in coming into compliance with the ADA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure information about the ADA from these sources:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Internet<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ADA-Indiana<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Indiana Governor\u2019s Council for People with Disabilities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Great Lakes ADA Center<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More Knowledge Wanted on Certain Areas of ADA<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>People want to know more about specific areas of the ADA:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enforcement of the ADA<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Obligations of Local and State Governments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Obligations of Community Organizations (stores, nonprofits, and others)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Respondents were quite informed about the ADA. 72% of Indiana respondents reported that they<br>have above average to very high knowledge of the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Respondents<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>122 individuals with disabilities, family members, and advocates participated in this presents the following response numbers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>4.1% &#8211; An interested community member without a disability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>13.9% &#8211; Parent, family member, or guardian of a person with disability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>16.4% &#8211; Professional working in local\/state government<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>21.3% &#8211; Professional or a service provider<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>44.3% &#8211; Person with a disability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These respondents covered 43 out of Indiana\u2019s 92 counties. 66% of the respondents were from<br>central Indiana counties, 17% were from southern Indiana counties, and 17% were from the northern<br>counties of the State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ADA Report Card was sponsored by the Indiana Governor\u2019s
