Great Lakes Webinars

The Great Lakes ADA Center long with the National Network of ADA Centers provide webinar sessions with up-to-date information on the ADA and its implementation in a variety of formats to meet the needs of individuals with diverse learning styles. Training includes up-to-date information on the ADA, its implementation and other disability-related issues. Continuing education units and certificates are available for many of the webinars.

Human generated captioning is provided. Participation is via the Zoom webinar platform or via telephone. Unless otherwise noted, the sessions are 90 minutes in length.

ADA-Audio Conference

The ADA Audio Conference Series provides in-depth information on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This program is designed to enhance an individual's existing knowledge base or facilitate continued learning regarding regulations and trends under the ADA.

Participating in the Audio Conference can support professional development of an individual, an entire department or an entire agency. We encourage entities to invite individuals, co-workers, or community partners, to participate at your site and increase participation. Site coordinators can use the time following each session to debrief on the subject, facilitate discussion of their agency's ADA compliance program and dialogue "where do we go from here?" to improve the agency's response to the ADA.

Accessible Technology Webinar Series

The ADA Accessible Technology Webinar Series is a collaborative training program between the Great Lakes ADA, Southwest ADA and Great Plains ADA . The goal of the series is to increase awareness on technology accessibility for people with disabilities. Electronic information and communications technology have become essential tools in all areas of our lives and working environments today, and are particularly important to people with disabilities by providing equal access to the workplace and social media. ADA Legal Webinar Series

The ADA Legal Webinar Series is a collaborative training program between the Great Lakes ADA and the Southwest ADA. This program is designed for individuals who have a working knowledge of the ADA and are familiar with its basic elements. Sessions are intended to support continued learning and focus on the knowledge that has been gained since the implementation of the law in terms of how the federal agencies and the courts are interpreting the law and subsequent regulations.

Section 508

This series of webinars will address a variety of issues associated with ensuring federal agencies have the knowledge they need to meet their obligations under Section 508. The series is co-sponsored by the Accessibility Committee of the CIO Council, the U.S. Access Board, and eFedLink/ODEP.

ADAOnline2020 Webinars

ADAOnline2020 was series of sessions that were originally slated to be presented at the 2020 National ADA Symposium in Kansas City, MO. Due to the pandemic, the Symposium was cancelled. In order to assist individuals who were pursing the ADA Coordinator Training Certification Program (ACTCP) the Great Lakes and Great Plains ADA Centers offered a series of programs virtually during the months of April through July 2020 and again in September through October 2020. The sessions represent many of the Foundation/Core credits associated with the ADA Coordinator Training Certification Program (ACTCP).

AccessibilityOnline

AccessibilityOnline represents a collaborative training program between the ADA National Network at http://www.adata.org/ and the US Access Board. The AccessibilityOnline Webinar Series is free and offers real-time captioning in all sessions. Sessions are held on a monthly basis and cover a variety of topics concerning accessibility to the built environment, information and communication technologies, and transportation.

The training is being coordinated and hosted by the Great Lakes ADA Center on behalf of the ADA National Network as a mechanism to provide accurate and quality training on the Architectural Barriers Act and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA/ABA) Accessibility Guidelines and on electronic and information technology accessibility standards (Section 508).

The ADA National Network provides a comprehensive set of services for up-to-date information, consultation, referrals, resources, and training on the Americans with Disabilities Act for businesses, employers, governmental entities, service providers and individuals with disabilities.

ADA Basic Building Blocks

The ADA Basic Building Blocks is an introductory web course that explores the legal requirements and the spirit of the ADA. The course content is self-paced and organized into 12 topics that have been designed to be studied in order. It covers the basic principles and core concepts contained in the ADA.

ADA Title II Tutorial

This free tutorial available at www.adacourse.org/title2 was developed by the ADA National Network to provide education and resources on the requirements applicable to State and Local government under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Approved for 0.3 CEU and 3 CRCC clock hours.
